Where is God and what is He doing now?

By now, I believe almost all Filipinos who has a cellphone already received a text message about the heavy monsoon rains that caused a lot of damages in lives and properties of my fellow Filipinos.

It was such a dreadful experience for the many of my fellow countrymen. It has reminded us of the painful memories brought by the typhoon “Ondoy” which we are trying to forget. Yesterday I was amazed with the numerous response of people helping others by disseminating information and help through all communications means possible (tv, radio, twitter, facebook, text brigades, and non-stop telethon).

Lot’s of people are still stranded right now if not at the rooftop they are at highest floor of their houses waiting to be rescued hoping these torrential rains stop soon. But the weather forecasts can’t tell us exactly when. It was at times like these I believe most of us would get to wonder or ask questions like;

Where is God at this point in time?

What is He doing now?

But would you believe me if I tell you that He is at work right now? That He is the God of Today and not just “yesterday and tomorrow”?

You see, it’s easier to believe God or thank Him with the things He has done (in the past) and the things we hope for (future) than to see what He doing right now. But our God is also a God of today. You might be asking how? please continue reading.

If you are one of those who’ve prayed or volunteers or given away donations to help others, I want to say thank you very much. But at the same time, I want to thank God for using you. With these, we know and we are assured that God is alive…. IN and THROUGH us all.

Most of us witnessed the spirit of  “Bayanihan” once again.  Some say it’s innate in us Filipinos and I believe its a gift that God gave us.

Lot’s of people started  helping others in their own (little or big) ways. God’s love is still displayed through us even with the people we don’t know or meet yet. It’s His love that compels us to do something, to take action, to help without taking advantage, to give without expecting anything in return.

God’s love is real and evident that even if we His children don’t do anything, He will use even people who don’t recognize or know Him yet. But how can we call ourselves his children when others don’t experience His love through our lives?

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. – 1 John 4:11-13

I believe this verse answered our previous questions;

Where is God at this point in time?

What is He doing now?

People “praying, giving and volunteering” is a proof of God’s goodness to us all. This is our opportunity to let God reveal Himself to more and more people. Like the message of salvation, He is giving us the privilege of being an extension of His love. To be His hands and feet for people to know His heart through you and I.

Indeed it’s a great time for them to experience His power and love through our lives.

God is uniting our families, churches and our nation to start helping one another, breaking down the walls of religion and divisions. As we put our trust on Him, continuously praying and asking God’s help, we will see that God is calling us back to Himself again. The unbelievers , cold hearts, and even for our brothers and sisters to remain strong in Him. Deepen our faith and trust in Him.

I know there are a lot more ways or NGO’s we can partner with but here are just one of the many -  Click here or here

“…because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

Thank you very much and God bless you!

  1. God is there, he is always there. It is time we realize we must be responsible for our own lives. A great deal of the destructive weather taking place is being manipulated by countries to use as weapons to achieve their desired outcome. It is time we wake up to this and stand our ground and say we will not accept this being done to innocent people. Time to fight back and stand up for ourselves. I am so sorry your people are suffering. Sending prayers to them all. VK
